Last January, I had the pleasure of doing some yoga photography at Yoga District DC with one of their instructors, Abigail. First of all, the studio was a photographer’s dream – huge windows, tons of natural sunlight, white curtains, wood and brick… cue dreamy sigh. The perfect place for photos – and, you know, yoga…
And speaking of yoga, the other thing I got out of this session was a workout. I wound up breaking a sweat just trying to capture all the angles. By the end of it, I almost felt like I should’ve paid Abigail for the workout. I can only imagine what it might’ve felt like if I’d been actually doing yoga… For anyone out there that thinks it might be easy, just try and replicate these poses:
Can’t do it? Me neither. But I guess that’s what classes are for, after all!
Thanks, Abigail, for the impromptu workout, and for giving me the opportunity to capture these awesome photos! For anyone interested in yoga classes, I’d highly recommend checking out Yoga District in DC. Or, if you’re like me and you just want to stand slack-jawed in the middle of a beautifully lit room, it’s also great for that…!
